Earth Retaining and Stabilizing Structures (ERSS)

Excavation in Singapore often requires a certified Earth Retaining Stabilising System (ERSS) to ensure soil stability and prevent structural movement.

HL Consulting Engineers provides full ERSS design, analysis, certification and submission to BCA and relevant authorities.

Our scope also covers Temporary Earth Retaining Structures (TERS) used during excavation. This includes the required submission for deep excavation to the LTA RWRL Engineering Works department.

We support projects such as basements, lift pits, sewer works, manholes, and public infrastructure construction.

ERSS Structural Design
  • Sheet pile, soldier pile, secant pile and diaphragm wall design
  • Temporary struts, walers, anchors, bracing and decking
  • Support structure modelling and construction staging
Geotechnical Assessment
  • Soil-structure interaction
  • Ground movement and stability analysis
  • Settlement impact assessment
Authority Submission
  • ERSS drawings and calculations
  • QP (PE) endorsement
  • BCA submission and approval coordination
Construction Monitoring
  • Installation inspection
  • Site verification and safety compliance
  • Monitoring of structural movement
